Sissy's Pastime

As the time goes by and we grow older and most of the time we forgot about the cousins, uncles, aunts and friends that we use to have fun playing during our younger years because we’re so busy dealing with our personal life. We seldom ask ourselves, what happen to them or are they doing great with their life.

Last year, I did not expected that I will get to meet most of my high school batch-mate after ten long years not seeing each other. We communicate through online and it was amazing really how online media can help us meet again our long lost friends and cousins. Some of them are working in different countries. Then, one of my batch-mate plan our high school reunion so that we can meet again and talk about the good old days including our high school teachers. They collect a small amount for our customize t-shirt for our batch. All of us did agree with it because if we order a volume, the custom t shirts cheap and affordable considering some of us still looking for a job. The reunion was a success, we got to see our teachers, high school best friends and crushes. And until now, we still got to chat online and if we have time we meet up.

The new generation have their ways of choosing their own kind of games and pastime to keep them entertain and at the same time keep them educated with the help of course of the parents. But even if all of them choose to be more high-tech in playing, they still love watching the same kids movies that I love and like. The Cinderella movies, Snow white, Little Mermaid and all the fairy tale movies that I only experience to watch when I was in my high schools days because we don’t have TV that time and the movie house is too far away from our province. Those children movies are still one of my favorite movies to watch, even if other’s comment that I’m too old for that kind of movies. And I always search online for a new animated movies just like this week. A lot of animated movies is shown in movie houses and I was missing some of them like the Madagascar 3, Ice Age and many more but what I like to watch are the two that I mention. I love watching movies and stuff for children.

To ease away the worries, problems and other sad things/stuff that keep bugging in our daily life for the time being. They all said: “every problem has its own solution” but i’m still looking and thinking hard for the solution of my problem at this moment. Reading a funny story would be a nice just to relax my mind for thinking to hard. Just smile and laughs and be happy.

On the first day, God created the dog and said:

‘Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years.’

The dog said: ‘That’s a long time to be barking. How about only ten years and I’ll give you back the other ten?’

So God agreed.

On the second day, God created the monkey and said:

‘Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I’ll give you a twenty-year life span.’

The monkey said: ‘Monkey tricks for twenty years? That’s a pretty long time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the Dog did?’

And God agreed.

On the third day, God created the cow and said:

‘You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer’s family. For this, I will give you a life span of sixty years…’

The cow said: ‘That’s kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. How about twenty and I’ll give back the other forty?’

And God agreed again.

On the fourth day, God created man and said:

‘Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I’ll give you twenty years.’

But man said: ‘Only twenty years? Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?’

‘Okay,’ said God, ‘You asked for it.’

So that is why for our first twenty years we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves.. For the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family. For the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren. And for the last ten years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.
